We do a lot of car camping and this tent was easy to put up once you got the hang of the extra awning and bone dry in very heavy rain conditions. The fly sheet almost reached the ground and this kept the inside of the main tent dry and comfortable. The extra awning was perfect for sitting in and even eating if the weather turned bad. The tent has performed superbly and the footprint is a great addition. We are currently on a 2 week trip in Prince Edward Island so the footprint has had a great workout with an almost daily rain. It fits the base of the tent very well and the six straps correspond to the six on the tent, so set up is simple. It is definately worth spending the extra money to get the footprint as it is far superior to plastic or other alternatives. It's the best tent I ever had so I wanted to protect it as much as possible. So I did not think twice in getting its brand footprint. As you can expect, the sheet fits perfectly and the color matching straps makes is setup a no-brainer. My only complaint is that on my first use up in Big Meadows at Shenandoah NP the footprint suffered a 2 in hole. There were no rocks or hard objects in the area. To this day, I can't explain it. The tent floor was undamaged. Either the footprint did a wonderful job absorbing the damage to protect the tent floor or the footprint sucks and the floor is so though that it does not need a footprint except to keep it clean. |
